New BDR? Insights to Get Up & Running!

So ​if you're just starting out and you're fairly new to fast paced BDR life style, no problem! We're all beginners at one point right? At least you've come to the right place for some simple but oh so IMPORTANT tips to help you make it through your first few weeks.  

*Cal-ADHERE, stick to your Calendar

There's a reason they have been around for SO long. Utilize ​your calendar up to the last minute. If you're thinking to yourself, "I'll do that tomorrow" or "it's no big deal". STOP! ​This is a HUGE mistake because you will most likely continue to do this every day. At the end of the week, the admin pile up will be your worst nightmare! Stick to your call block out times in your calendar and use those for calling only! Stay on track to maximize efficiency.

*Tracker, keep tracking

BDR's have different ways of keeping track of prospective clients. Whatever your system is, make sure it's stays updated. You'll never remember the full conversation or touch point you have with a client day's later. As soon as ANYTHING relevant transpires, TRACK it. Nothing will make you look, well you know... more then prospecting someone you have already connected with.


I've saved the best for last as they say. This is tedious, time consuming and maybe boring even UNTIL you realize it actually WORKS. It may take you five or even ten touchpoints before you get a response. The most important thing is that you continue to follow up until you get one. Every "no" gets you that much closer to a "YES"!

You may have noticed at the beginning of this I stated, the BDR "life style." That's because this role takes a lot of commitment and a certain type of person. Not everyone can BE a BDR.  However, with a lot of hard work, patience, perseverance, positive attitude, willingness to grow and keeping up with our Tips and Tricks of course, you may have what it takes!
